The Ebby House

DJF SERVICE CHAIR:  Julie Sheridan

Named in honor of legendary Dallas realtor, philanthropist  and humanitarian Ebby Halliday Acers, the Ebby House is an independent-living residential home for young women ranging in age from 18 to 24 years of age who have "aged out" of the Texas foster care system.  The Ebby House features a strengths-based life-skills program and can house up to 16 young women for 12-24 months.

The residences at Ebby House are named for the Dallas Junior Forum, and DJF volunteers personally decorate each and every young woman's room and join them frequently for meals and fun.

Dallas Junior Forum volunteers mentor these young women, helping teach them independent living skills and providing career guidance, encouraging job training, and finding opportunities for continuing their educations.

Ebby House is administered by the Juliette Fowler Communities and is under the direction of an Executive Director and a full-time, live-in House Manager.
