Dallas Children's Advocacy Center

DJF SERVICE CHAIRS: Elaine Eliason, Valerie McMahan and Sue Sereboff

The mission of the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) is to improve the lives of abused children in Dallas County and to provide national leadership on child abuse issues. DCAC coordinates the investigation and prosecution of the most severe cases of child abuse in the Dallas community, and hosts the internationally renowned Crimes Against Children Conference each year.

Last year, DCAC served nearly 2,800 children (and their non-offending family members) who were sexually abused, severely physically abused, or who had witnessed a violent crime. DCAC provides a warm, child-friendly environment to help children who are referred by law enforcement or Child Protective Services.

DCAC's average client is a 9-10 year-old girl who has been sexually abused by someone she knows and trusts.

Dallas Junior Forum members volunteer at the annual Crimes Against Children Conference, provide support in DCAC's offices , spearhead holiday decorating and gift-giving for the children, and work on special projects as they arise.
